Visit Our Fall Coastal Core Town: Louisbourg, NS

The Charm at Our Doorstep

There are certain things about living in a small coastal town that I hope I never stop noticing. Clothes blowing on the line with the ocean behind them, a rainbow appearing after a morning of fog, wild apples growing along a coastal road or realizing it is somehow warm enough for one more beach day in September. These are the coastal core vibes I live for.

The little things make a place memorable

Fall is one of my favourite times to experience Louisbourg. The summer crowds begin to disappear, but there are still sunny afternoons mixed between the cool, foggy days that make you want to pull on a sweater. Nick and I call this "shorts & sweater weather".

It really is the perfect time to visit the lighthouse, walk along the beach or stop somewhere for something homemade. Maybe a slice of cake from a local bakery or a treat from the chip truck. When I used to own a retail shop, I would tell visitors that a fav thing to do is grab a slice of cake over at Spoondrift, then sit by the ocean and enjoy the view.

There is a story in the ordinary

That is what I love most about coastal communities. So much of the whimsy is found in everyday life. You see it in the fishing boats coming and going, the weather changing before lunch, the colourful houses and the little businesses you discover along the way. Life in Louisbourg can be like a classic Hallmark movie, it is all in how you look at it.

I couldn't be happier and more inspired by the sweet surroundings. I hope this post has inspired you to plan a day trip to beautiful Louisbourg or another dreamy coastal community in your area. Fall is here, the leaves are changing, and there are endless stories to be told.

Come visit Louisbourg, you'll love it here.
